Sheba Gewurtztraminer Late Harvest

Sweet White WIne | Sheba Series

The vineyard lies at 980 meters above sea level on a basaltic slope rich in red tuff. The soil is mineral-rich and well-drained. Winters are extremely cold with frequent snow, while summers are sunny with cool nights—ideal for developing aroma and flavor precursors. The 2023 season was unusually hot, causing the grapes to shrivel earlier and concentrate their sugars, acids, and flavors.

Variety

Gewürztraminer

Appellation

Aloney HaBashan, Golan Heights

Crafted in the tradition of classic dessert wines from Alsace and the Rhine. The grapes were harvested late in the season at peak ripeness, with natural concentration due to dehydration. After destemming and gentle pressing, the must was fermented slowly at low temperatures for over six weeks until the natural sugars and low alcohol reached balance. The wine was then gently clarified and filtered to preserve aroma and flavor.

This wine shows a bright golden-yellow color and a rich bouquet of rosewater and tropical fruits, especially lychee. It strikes a delightful balance between high residual sugar and natural freshness. The finish is long and layered with fruity and floral complexity.

Ideal as a luxurious aperitif or paired with foie gras confit on toast, endive salad, or Roquefort cheese with roasted walnuts.
